Request for late payment

Dear sir 

I was surprised to receive your letter of 31 December stating that you had not received payment of this account.

Our cheque for $79,000 was mailed to you on 9th January 

As you have obviously not received this, I have instructed our bank to cancel this cheque. A replacement cheque for the same amount is enclosed.
